lyrics

Can we give this some context?
This fight’s not about a protest,
Or the right to simply remain.

It’s how we got here in the first place.
Not an invite and no handshake.
Genocide is not a trade.

White priveledge still destroying lives, and I’m ashamed to say…

We seem to pretend it didn’t happen. But it happened. Weren’t we supposed to change?
We still teach the next generation; that we’re all happy. But, weren’t we supposed to change?

Fighting just to have the same rights.
A futile fight.
White man wins again.

We claim to raise awareness.
Then the week after we just forget.
A hashtag won’t bring change.

White priveledge still destroying lives, and I’m ashamed to say…

We seem to pretend it didn’t happen. But it happened. Weren’t we supposed to change?
We still teach the next generation; that we’re all happy. But, weren’t we supposed to change?

Flying solo with this, trying the acoustic thing, doing originals and some covers.. ... more
